Shredded to pieces

Many of the products which we receive at HJHansen Recycling Group are complex and consisting of different materials – a decommissioned car, a bike, old white goods, lawn mower etc. If these objects are to be recycled, we need to fragmentize them in order to sort out the different materials. At our plant in Odense we have Northern Europe’s largest shredder. It is basically a machine with 10 giant hammers shredding the object into smaller sizes. By putting these complex materials through our shredder and refinery, we create as clean fragments as possible, e.g., the ferrous materials achieve a purity of 99%.

Our shredder processes up to 240 cars an hour
